Resumen
Objective: To determine if the implementation of three (03) components of the Internal Control System impacts the improvement of quality in the services for issuing firearm licenses at the National Superintendency for the Control of Security Services, Weapons, Ammunition, and Explosives for Civilian Use (SUCAMED). Methods: This was a non-experimental, cross-sectional, descriptive, and correlational study. Data was collected via a survey administered to 13 individuals. The results were analyzed using SPSS with a Chi-square test to determine the relationship with the following dimensions: control environment, risk assessment, and control activities. Results: The R² of Ch² showed a positive correlation, with an index of 0.962 (96.2%), and a freedom index of 0.038 (3.8%). This validated the alternative hypothesis, which suggests that "There is a significant impact between the implementation of three (3) components of the Internal Control System (ICS)." Conclusion: The evidenced relationship demonstrates that the implementation of the ICS components improves the quality of firearm licensing services provided by SUCAMEC (Superintendency of Security Services, Weapons, Ammunition and Explosives for Civil Use). This results in savings in time and cost, and increased transparency in the licensing process.
