Knowledge and practice on preventive measures against Covid 19 in merchants selling basic necessities of the Huancavelica food market - 2021

Resumen

Objective: To determine the relationship between the knowledge and the practice of preventive measures against COVID-19 in merchants selling staple foods in the Huancavelica food market, 2021. Methodology: Basic type research, belonging to the correlational level, method inductive, deductive and statistical, non-experimental, transectional design, the sample consisted of 109 merchants, to measure knowledge the survey technique was used and as an instrument a questionnaire, to measure the practice the observation technique was used and as an instrument a Observation Guide. Results: 36.7% (40) of merchants present high knowledge, but only 9.2% (10) manage to have good practice; about hand washing, 26.6% (29) of merchants have average knowledge and regular practices; Regarding the use of personal protective equipment, 47.7% (52) of merchants have high knowledge, but present regular practice; Regarding social distancing, 47.7% (52) of merchants have high knowledge and present good practice; Regarding the use of disinfectants, 33.9% (37) of merchants have high knowledge and this reflects their good practice; Regarding solid waste management, 37.6% (41) of merchants have medium knowledge, but they managed to have a good practice. Conclusions: There is no relationship between knowledge and the practice of preventive measures against COVID 19 in merchants selling food staple of the Huancavelica food market - 2021.
