Resumen
This paper investigates the feasibility of using Quishuar (Buddleja americana) sawdust for the production of environmentally friendly briquettes, focusing on its potential as a sustainable energy source in the Tayacaja Province, Peru. Through a detailed analysis of the briquettes' physical and chemical properties, significant results were found: a moisture content of 18.43%, a density of 480.85 kg/m³, and a cellulose content of 61.42%. Furthermore, the briquettes demonstrated a combustion time of 1 hour and 53 minutes, suggesting favorable energy efficiency. Using Quishuar waste to produce briquettes achieves a double advantage: waste is efficiently managed and a clean, renewable fuel is obtained, reducing dependence on conventional energy sources. However, further research is required to perfect their production and thoroughly assess their long-term environmental impact.
