Resumen
This work focuses on the geological study of the Puerto Viejo wetland, highlighting how it has diminished over time and the potential environmental implications in the area. The report includes a geological map of the area, descriptions of collected samples, a stratigraphic table, and the formation of the Puerto Viejo wetland. The objectives and current issues of this wetland in its development are presented. Wetlands form when water accumulates in areas with poor drainage, and in the case of Puerto Viejo, it is a marine and coastal wetland. It is mentioned that the disappearance of these wetlands may be related to the misuse of groundwater for irrigation and human consumption. Geological formations in the area, such as the Pamplona Formation and the Lurín Formation, are described, and rock samples with their corresponding characteristics are presented. The report concludes by emphasizing the importance of protecting wetlands and the need to take measures for their conservation.
