Resumen

Water is an important resource for human life, since it is very useful in different activities such as crop irrigation, electricity generation and drinking water. Water consumption is increasing rapidly and its supply sources are highly threatened by man-made pollution. Therefore, it is required to properly manage this resource and constantly monitor its quality. Water quality indices (ICA) are mathematical tools that integrate information from various parameters, allowing large amounts of data to be transformed into a single scale for measuring water quality. A study was carried out to determine the Water Quality Index, using the ICA-PE method in the Bella and Supte Chico rivers, for which water samples were taken at three points (high point, midpoint and low point), and Physicochemical (conductivity, temperature) and chemical (OD, BOD5, pH, cadmium, lead) parameters, microbiological parameters (thermotolerant coliforms) were determined, in addition, the morphometric parameters of the Bella river basin and the Supte Chico river were determined.
